THE IBAKM® JOURNEY

The establishment of the Institute of Business Administration and Knowledge Management (IBAKM) was conceptualized in 2012 by Moanglobal Professionals Group with the aim of championing and promoting the cause of a global professional body for the advancement of the Business Administration and Knowledge Management disciplines, practices and professions in Nigeria and globally.

The process of registration and strategic development of the Institute commenced in 2013 and on the 18th of January, 2019, the Federal Ministry of Education, Nigeria through its Evaluation and Accreditation Division gave its final approval of no objection via a letter with reference number FME/ESS/E&A/ANPB/IIIT/397.

The Institute of Business Administration and Knowledge Management (IBAKM) was fully licenced as a professional body by the Federal Government of Nigeria with the approval and consent of the Federal Ministry of Justice and the Office of the Attorney General of the Federation on the 18th of September, 2019 in line with the provisions of CAM Act 1990 C20 LFN 2004.

THE INSTITUTE

The Institute of Business Administration and Knowledge Management (IBAKM) is a membership driven global professional body for BA and KM professionals, practitioners and consultants.

The Institute is statutorily empowered to champion, promote and advance the art and science of Business Administration and Knowledge Management in all its aspects and ramifications as well as establish professional standards for the registration, membership, training and certification of practicing and aspiring professionals as professional business administrators and knowledge managers.

IBAKM is established in accordance with the Laws of the Federation of Nigeria with the approval and consent of the Federal Ministry Education, Federal Ministry of Justice and the Office of the Attorney General of the Federation as well as duly incorporated with the Corporate Affairs Commission as a body limited by guarantee.

The establishment of the Institute have carved out a niche for the career development and growth of the professions and thereby requires all persons and organizations engaged in the activity of or uses the knowledge and practice of Business Administration and Knowledge Management or desirous of globally recognized professional certifications as Certified Business Administrators (CBA) and Certified Knowledge Managers (CKM) to register with the Institute for the achievement of their career goals.

The Institute offers dual memberships and multiple certifications thereby giving its members a competitive advantage in their career pursuit.  The certifications are highly innovative, top-notch and developed based on a acceptable ethical standards framework for professional practice and global impact.

The Institute official trading names are:

IBAKM® | Institute of Business Administration and Knowledge Management

This is the umbrella body established by law for the membership, training, examination, certification, licensing and accreditation of persons, systems, processes, services, organizations, institutions, etc.

IBAKM® Business School

This is the strategic training arm of the Institute offering Continuous Professional Education and Development (CPED), Global Executive Education Programme (GEEP), Creative and Innovation Enterprise Programme (CIEP) and Professional Diploma Certification Programme (PDCP).

IBAKM® Professional Society | Association of Business Administration and Knowledge Management Professionals (IBAKM-ABAKMP®)

This is the professional society of the Institute strategically created to connect Business Administration and Knowledge Management professionals globally for the purpose of networking, knowledge sharing as well as championing the awareness and publicity of IBAKM professional membership, training and certification programmes through the establishment of IBAKM Chapters.

IBAKM® Students Forum | Association of Business Administration and Knowledge Management Students (IBAKM-ABAKMS®)

The IBAKM Students Forum is strategically designed for undergraduates and postgraduates’ students of recognized tertiary institutions studying towards a Business Administration, Knowledge Management and related disciplines academic qualifications or candidates studying towards IBAKM professional qualifications at the various IBAKM Approved Learning Centres, Partners and Institutions.

IBAKM® Women Forum | Women in Business Administration and Knowledge Management (IBAKM-WiBAKM®)

The Women in Business Administration and Knowledge Management (WiBAKM®) shall be the women forum of the Institute of Business Administration and Knowledge Management (IBAKM). Its focus shall be to cater for the interest of the female Business Administration and Knowledge Management professionals, practitioners and consultants.

IBAKM® Young Business Administrators and Knowledge Managers Competition (IBAKM-YBAKMC®)

The IBAKM competition for young business administrators and knowledge managers shall promote excellence and innovation amongst the young professionals.

IBAKM® Journal | International Journal of Business Administration and Knowledge Management (IBAKM-IJBAKM®)

The IBAKM Journal (a.k.a The Global BA and KM Journal) shall be a global magazine and trademark of the Institute of Business Administration and Knowledge Management (IBAKM) aimed at educating, advancing and promoting the Business Administration and Knowledge Management profession and practice.

IBAKM® Newsletter

The IBAKM Newsletter shall be a quarterly update on the Institute events, programmes and activities.

OBJECTIVES OF THE INSTITUTE

  • To champion, promote, advance and regulate the art and science of Business Administration and Knowledge Management disciplines in all its aspects and ramifications.
  • To establish professional standards for the registration, membership, training, examination and certification of aspiring and practicing Business Administration and Knowledge Management professionals, practitioners and consultants.
  • To conduct examinations and other form of assessments for the award of the Institute’s Membership Qualifications and Professional Certifications; Companion-CIBAKM, Doctoral Fellow-Dr./FIBAKM/FCBA/FCKM, Fellow-FIBAKM/FCBA/FCKM, Full Member-MIBAKM/MCBA/MCKM, Associate-AIBAKM/ACBA/ACKM, Graduate-GIBAKM/Grad.BA/Grad.KM, Licenitate-LIBAKM/LMBA/LMKM and Affiliate-AfIBAKM/AfMBA/AfMKM.
  • To establish and maintain a register of the Institute’s membership for Certified Business Administrators (CBA), Certified Knowledge Managers (CKM), Certified Business Administration Practitioners (CBAP), Certified Knowledge Management Practitioners (CKMP), Certified Business Administration Practicing Organisations (CBAPO) and Certified Knowledge Management Practicing Organisations (CKMPO).
  • To conduct training with a view of developing human capital in the broad fields of Business Administration and Knowledge Management and related subjects, courses and disciplines and award Proficiency Diploma Certificates; Professional Post Graduate Diploma (IBAKM PGDip.), Professional Graduate Diploma (IBAKM GDip.), Professional Higher Diploma (IBAKM HDip.) and Professional Diploma (IBAKM Dip.).
  • To conduct specialized, innovative and industry based certifications in the broad fields of Business Administration and Knowledge Management and related subjects, courses and disciplines leading to the award of the Certified Global Manager (CGMgr), Certified Global Management Consultant (CGMC), Certified Information System Manager and Auditor (CISMA), Certified Engineering Manager (CEMgr), etc.
  • To organize workshops, seminars, conferences, symposia, talks, etc. with a view of promoting, advancing and championing Business Administration and Knowledge Management and related subjects, courses and disciplines and to issue certificates of attendance.
  • To carry out research and consultancy services in the broad fields of Business Administration and Knowledge Management and related subjects, courses and disciplines.
  • To liaise, partner and collaborate with institutions, organizations, establishments, etc. with a view to promoting ethical practices and professional standards in the professions.
  • To contribute to policy formulation at all levels, both Local, State, National and International, for the sustainability of good governance, economic growth, industrial rejuvenation, etc
  • To do all such other things as may be considered incidental or conducive to the attainment of the above objects or any of them.
