ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR MEMBERSHIP

The membership of the Institute of Business Administration and Knowledge Management (IBAKM®) is open for everyone to join irrespective of academic discipline or profession. Admission into the IBAKM® membership is by qualification, experience or proof of accredited and approved apprenticeship/vocational training and education.

Candidates admitted into the IBAKM® membership can as well obtain the Chartered Institute of Business Administration and Knowledge Management (CIBAKM®) professional certifications to qualify as Chartered Certified Business Administrator (CBA®) and Chartered Certified Knowledge Manager (CKM®) after satisfying all necessary requirements for certification, either through examinations, exemptions or approved research work in line with the CIBAKM® academic and professional development standard.

The IBAKM® membership grades, including the honorary membership, are as follows:

  • Affiliate of the Institute of Business Administration and Knowledge Management (AfIBAKM)
  • Licentiate of the Institute of Business Administration and Knowledge Management (LIBAKM)
  • Graduate of the institute of Business Administration and Knowledge Management (GIBAKM)

  • HND, Bachelor Degree in Business Administration and Management with less than 5 years post-graduation experience.
  • HND, Bachelor Degree in non-related discipline plus ACA, ACCA, ACIS, ACIB, etc. with less than 5 years of post-professional experience.
  • HND, Bachelor Degree or equivalents in Management Science related courses with minimum of 5 years post-graduation experience.

  • HND, Bachelor Degree in non-related discipline plus ACA, ACCA, ACIS, ACIB, etc. with minimum of 15 years post-professional experience.
  • HND, Bachelor Degree in Business Administration and Management with minimum of 15 years post-graduation experience.
  • HND or equivalents in Management Science related courses with minimum of 20 years post-graduation experience.
  • HND or equivalents in Sciences, Engineering, Law and Arts related courses with minimum of 25 years post-graduation experience.
  • CIBAKM® FCBA & FCKM certifications.
  • Eminently qualified scholars or outstanding individuals with excellent performance at the top echelon of their career.  The Board of Governors with the recommendations of the International Advisory Council as well as the Membership and Ethics Committee may at its discretion confer the Doctoral Fellow of the Institute of Business Administration and Knowledge Management (Dr. & FIBAKM) on deserving individuals on their merit.
COMPANION (CIBAKM)
  • Fellows with outstanding performance who have contributed to the growth of the Institute and the BA and KM profession at large or accomplished individuals, business administrators & knowledge managers who through their position have contributed to the economic growth and sustainability of Nations and the BA and KM profession.

PROCEDURE FOR APPLICATION AND INDUCTION REGISTRATION

  • Send updated CV, scanned copies of certificates plus valid ID to admissions@ibakmglobal.com for evaluation and approval.  This applies to fresh candidates.
  • Get provisional admission letter based on your application for membership.
  • Make payment for the applicable membership level into the Institute Bank account.
  • Send evidence of payment to induction@ibakmglobal.com with name written in CAPITAL LETTERS as it will appear on the certificate. Also state current contact details; mobile number, email, postal address and correspondence address.

The Institute Outstanding Practice Awards are designed to reward IBAKM® licenced practitioners with notable landmark achievements in BA and KM professional practice.  Recipients of the awards will be selected based on;

  • years of experience in practice;
  • contributions made to the advancement of the BA and KM practice, local and international;
  • competence, innovation and creativity in professional practice;
  • quality management and ethical standards in professional practice;
  • feedback from notable clients, mentees, colleagues, subordinates, superiors or partners;
  • overall contribution to the growth and development of the Institute, and
  • any other criteria the Board of Governors and Governing Council may deem necessary.

The Outstanding Practice Award will be conferred based on the candidate’s membership and professional certification grade as follows:

  • Doctor of Professional Practice (DPP) Certificate in Business Administration and Knowledge Management Practice for holders of FIBAKM/FCBA/FCKM in addition to CBAP® and CKMP®.
  • Master of Professional Practice (MPP) Certificate in Business Administration and Knowledge Management Practice for holders of MIBAKM/MCBA/MCKM in addition to CBAP® and CKMP®.
